What is the digital signature?
It is the signature that lets you know that a digital document corresponds to a specific person. A series of mathematical operations make that signature unique, authentic and can be verified by the person receiving the document.

What are digital documents?
Digital documents are, for example, text written in a word processor, an email, a website, a spreadsheet and all information contained in an electronic medium.

Does the digital signature fulfill the same function as the handwriting signature?
Yes. When a document is required by law to be signed, that obligation can be fulfilled with the digital signature.
